Line Of Fire - Cabin Pressure - Review : Physically And Emotionally Trapped

This episode really got me emotionally, and that is how I know that the show has done such a good job of making me love these characters so quickly. To be on episode 6 and for me to be that invested that I am becoming emotional as they are all doing their jobs is impressive.

One of the biggest things that I love about this show is the fact that I really have to intensely pay attention to it; so much happens in every single episode that you can’t afford to miss anything. I love it because it makes you feel like you are part of this family trying to work out what on earth is going on.

The start of the episode let us know that Mike now has a date scheduled with Emily; however, I am not sure whether that will ever go anywhere based on what happened during this episode. They may go on a date, and I would be interested in seeing that, but I think Mike will always love Jane too much to ever move on.

I am really glad that Micah and Russ told Mike about what happened with the president’s assassination attempt. I wasn’t sure if they would try and protect him. I loved the back-and-forth argument that Mike and Micah had after Antasca had been found dead. What I liked even more was that Micah still looked into it even after their argument; as much as they but heads, they equally care so deeply about one another.
Honestly, the storyline this episode freaked me out a little bit, which means it did exactly what it was supposed to. It was obvious that the one plane that really had something happen would be the plane that Jane was on; however, I did not see the twist coming until the Air Marshal said about the sister.

The speech that Jane had to the Air Marshal, knowing that her family was listening, wrecked me. I was so emotional the moment she started talking about Jack, and then it panned to the rest of the family standing there listening. I was so invested in what she had to say. Especially since everything she was saying was correct, we have watched her push everyone she loves away but has also been trying to rectify that.

Watching all of the family cry and contemplate what had been said was incredible. (Definitely must have been awkward in that office when everyone else heard all their family problems over the channel too.)

I am so glad that we got to see Mike and Jane on the phone to each other talking about their day, and also in turn helping them both resolve their cases. I was worried we might see less of them interacting after last episode but I think this episode just proved how good they are together.

Mike has really put himself in danger by going to Darryl at the end of this episode. I truly thought that he was either going to be poisoned or shot for figuring out that the assassination attempt was a fake to draw in more votes. I am very intrigued to see what he is going to do, not that I think Mike could ever bury this.

I like that we might be getting to see Clare slowly move on from Logan, even if it is slowly. She and Raul seem like a really good pairing and it will be nice to see their relationship unfold, whether it turns out to be romantic or platonic.

The biggest shock of this episode is that Nia is still alive. After Jack lured her to that room and left the crane I was sure that he would just shoot her. I am even more confused than I have been in previous episodes regarding Jack and his motives.

Asking Nia to not tell anyone and especially his family that he is alive in return for letting her go was so strange. I don’t know if that means he is trying to protect them, but I am leaning more towards that. I’m not sure why they can’t know that he is alive but I can’t wait to find out. He was incredibly creepy in this episode but for some reason I am fine with it because it means we get to know him a little bit more.

I have no idea where this show is headed but I know that it is going somewhere great, and with a full season order there is only more to learn. Bring it on!
