One more week we are back to experiencing all kinds of emotions thanks to The Pitt, which in its ninth hour brings us new stories and continuations of others that we have been following since the first episode.

Episode Summary
This episode opens with the aftermath of Amber's death and how it affects the team in different ways. As the episode unfolds, Langdon has very different interactions with two of his new teammates, Whitaker becomes a hero in the ER, and Collins calls out McKay for a case she may not have handled in the best possible way. Furthermore, throughout the hour, the tension in the waiting room chairs builds until one patient loses his patience.

Continuing cases
McKay, with the help of Evans and Kiara, continues trying to help Piper, the girl who seems to be trapped in a women trafficking ring, but despite her efforts she cannot prevent her from leaving with her “boss”, although there’s a small hope that we can see her later. Whitaker manages to connect with the “Kraken”, the psychiatric patient who has caused a lot of trouble in the emergency room for not taking his medications properly. Thanks to this connection, the doctor learns about a program the hospital has in which some doctors help patients on the streets.

In addition, Theresa Saunders, who made herself sick to seek help for her son David, is discharged, though Robby continues to keep an eye on her and hopes that she will soon be able to locate the boy, so he asks her to stay a while longer.

New cases
We have two injured in the same accident: a man hit by a car while walking his dog and the woman who ran over him, who also turns out to be a patient that McKay treated that same morning discharged her, diagnosing only a urinary infection, but who actually has endometriosis, which caused her a sepsis, that then led to the accident. Collins makes her colleague see that she probably didn’t want to treat Paula, the patient, further because she had a prejudice against her weight.

Highlights
One is the confrontation between Langdon and Santos that reaches its climax, while they treat a girl who overdosed at a music festival. Santos takes the blame herself for taking too long to perform the proper treatment on the patient, although in reality this was Mohan's responsibility, but this is enough for Langdon to explode and blurt out all the truths he has been holding back about what he thinks of the young doctor's attitudes. Robby calls out the resident doctor and tells him that this is not the way to teach interns.

Also, the growing tension in the waiting room, first shown with the fight between two women at the beginning, culminates with Doug Driscoll, a patient who has been waiting literally hours for a solution to his symptoms, taking it out on Dana, which is sure to bring consequences in the remaining hours of his shift.

Characters of the week
Dana Evans: The head nurse seems to always be there for everyone and ready for anything. His extensive experience treating patients and doctors within the emergency room becomes evident by the minute and she has the good presence of mind necessary to work in a place like this.

Dennis Whitaker: Despite his somewhat complicated first experiences in the emergency room, in this episode we were able to see two aspects that we didn’t know about him: his great empathy and his ability to get rid of rats, literally.

Although we did not lack the dramatic, tense and surprising moments that we are used to with this series, I think that this episode was a little lighter than the previous ones because it had more moments of peace that even made us smile, such as the rejection of Mateo, the nurse, to Javadi's invitation, or the appearance of the rats at various moments in the hour; but with that ending, it is certain that in the next episode the tensions will return multiplied.

Now it's your turn to share your opinions. What did you think of this episode? Who are your favorite characters? Leave your comments in the section below.
