The wait is finally over; Law & Order: OC has an official premiere date!
The NBC drama, which has now been moved to Peacock, is set to air its first two episodes on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with the following eight new episodes streaming weekly.
The Law & Order franchise spinoff first aired in April 2021 and followed Det. Elliot Stabler’s return to New York following his decade-long departure and reunion with his friend, Captain Olivia Benson. Fans will know that the first 4 seasons of the procedural saw Stabler (Christopher Meloni) infiltrating Albanian mafias and exposing New York’s criminal organizations. Season 5 will take a slightly different path.

According to NBC, season 5 handles “the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling" and "high-tech domestic terrorism”. We’ll also get an insight into Stabler’s life in Rome, an element of the show that has only been touched on briefly. "A crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome", says Peacock.

Viewers who tuned in to season 4 will remember the appearance of Elliot’s brothers, Randall and Joe Jr., and in the new season, Stabler will depend on Randall to take care of things at home while he is on assignment. The Stabler household is also adding a new member, with Elliot’s youngest, Eli, expecting a baby with his girlfriend, and has followed in his dad’s footsteps and joined the police academy.

In August 2024, Meloni teased, “Oh, girlfriend’s coming on,” referring to his long-time friend and co-star Mariska Hargitay, who plays Captain Benson. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited any news on the development of the show.
What does this mean for the slow burn relationship between Elliot and Olivia?

Though Elliot and Olivia haven’t been seen on screen together since season 3, they’ve left things in a good place following a phone call shared between the pair in the season finale of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 25.
