This episode kicks off with Sir in prison, setting a tense mood for what's to come. At M&A, Gabi is struggling with her guilt, feeling like she hasn’t paid her penance. She's anxious because she can't predict Sir's next move. She gets a case from Bernie, an old friend, which gives her something to focus on.

When Gabi arrives at Bernie’s apartment, she finds him on the ground and the place is a mess. Bernie tells her his sister Violet is missing, which is a shocking revelation. The cops arrive and immediately point guns at Bernie, which leads Gabi to beg them not to shoot. It's a tense scene, with Gabi caught in the middle of this dangerous situation.

Trent and DCPD start treating Bernie as a suspect for murder, which only heightens the tension. Trent mentions neighbors heard them fighting, and there's blood everywhere. Gabi, however, insists that Bernie couldn’t have done it because he’s blind and a pastor. Gabi also reveals Bernie’s wife was her therapist, but Bernie was the one who really helped her. This back-and-forth between Gabi and Trent is one of the more intense moments of the episode.

Things take a strange turn when Christian’s car is found with photos of Gabi and her team, which raises more questions. The episode then cuts to Margaret and Jamie grabbing coffee, where Margaret offers Jamie to stay with her, but he says he’s not ready. He also pushes her to talk about the M&A case, showing he’s eager to help in ways that feel a little suspicious.

Outside M&A, a group of reporters bombard Gabi with questions about Sir. Bernie steps in, using his cane to push one of them away and telling them to leave her alone. This moment is one of the more powerful scenes where we see Bernie’s protective side.

As Gabi and the M&A team dig deeper, Bernie finally admits that Violet killed his wife, Maria. It’s a shocking confession, but it makes sense given the circumstances—Violet had power of attorney and pulled the plug after Maria had a stroke. The team investigates further, and Zeke uncovers a lead about a deacon with gambling debts who may have been involved in some shady dealings with Bernie.

Meanwhile, Sir has a visitor in prison—it’s Trent. They exchange some harsh words about Christian, and Sir remains silent. The tension between them builds, leaving us wondering what’s going on in Sir’s head. Later, Sir asks for a book, which adds an interesting element to his character. Gabi starts to piece together that Sir’s accomplice might be trying to set up Christian, and that the police might be in danger if they don't get it right.

Back in the investigation, Margaret, Dhan, and Shaker investigate Bernie’s apartment and uncover a new piece of the puzzle when a security guard drags Jamie upstairs. It turns out Jamie had been snooping around, and Shaker realizes Jamie is Margaret’s son. This revelation is key, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

Meanwhile, at the church, the deacon admits that he wasn’t asking Bernie for money, just emotional support. Ms. Pearl, a woman from Gabi’s past, appears and gives some new insight into Violet’s situation. The connection between Ms. Pearl and Violet is important, as it suggests that Violet might have felt an enormous amount of guilt over her actions toward Maria.

When Gabi finally finds Violet, she offers her forgiveness, telling her she doesn’t need to feel guilty. This emotional moment helps Violet reconcile with Bernie, and they’re able to reunite. Bernie agrees to return to the church, which brings a sense of closure to the case.

However, not everything is as it seems. Jamie’s actions start to raise more red flags. Gabi finds a broach in Jamie’s coat, and it turns out it belongs to Ms. Pearl, not Violet. This leads to a confrontation with Ms. Pearl, who admits to having fought with Violet. It turns out that Violet felt guilty and might have run away because of it. Gabi assures her that she has nothing to forgive.

The episode culminates in a tense moment when Gabi discovers that Christian has taken his own life. She receives the news from Trent, and this twist changes everything. Gabi realizes Sir was behind everything, manipulating the situation to set Christian up. This is a huge revelation that brings the episode to a heartbreaking conclusion.

At home, Gabi gets rid of all her Sir books, symbolizing her decision to cut ties with him. But then, Margaret knocks on her door with an unsettling discovery. She found a toy in Jamie’s room that went missing years ago, leading Margaret to suspect that the kidnapper may have been in her house at some point. The suspicion that Margaret might know the kidnapper leaves us with a chilling cliffhanger.

Overall, the episode is packed with intense moments. From the shocking twists with Bernie and Violet to Gabi’s emotional journey, the stakes keep rising. The investigation is full of unexpected turns, and the final revelation about Christian’s death leaves the audience reeling. With Margaret’s new suspicion about Jamie, the episode sets up an exciting new mystery that will keep viewers hooked for what’s next!
