Garcelle Beauvais Talks: Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie

Garcelle Beauvais has no problem being the voice of those that are voiceless. Her production company, Garcelle Productions has previously partnered with Lifetime and brought audiences the first movie, Black Girl Missing back in 2023. After inking a deal which saw Garcelle expanding her relationship with Lifetime (signing on to produce three original movies), fans do not have to wait much longer for the next movie in the Black Girl Missing franchise.

Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing premiers July 20th at 8pm on Lifetime. According to the channel, the movie “serves to highlight the growing epidemic of missing Black women and girls particularly those who come from disadvantaged communities.” Leading the film is Tanyell Quian as college student Shannon and Naturi Naughton as her counselor Ms. Ellen. When Shannon goes missing, Ellen is the only one to notice. With other college staff brushing the matter aside, Ellen must take action. Garcelle only serves as executive producer this time around.

I had a chance to speak with Garcelle about the film and her career. To watch our full interview click the link below:
