Evil - How to Survive a Storm- Review: She Went Out Like a Boss

Wow what an episode! A hurricane that turned into a tornado was quite the storm this episode. I spent this entire season frustrated beyond belief at Sheryl. I could not figure out her motivations but these last few episodes she has made it clear. She was working to try and stop Leland and while that was great she made some horrible mistakes along the way.

Before we get into the ultimate showdown, I cannot believe that Leland used to be training to be a Priest for ten years and has remote viewing powers. His are far stronger than David’s and he almost took him out. This is a game changer as now Leland has the power to take over David at will. Father Dominic tried to warn him but he wanted to protect Kristen and the girls as Leland moved in next to them.

As everyone gathered at Kristen’s house, Sister Andrea stood outside battling “The Gray Man” and the demons outside. Protect Sister Andrea at all costs because she fears nothing, even when getting clawed by demons. The girls whom I love but sometimes I just need them to listen. Why would they go into an abandoned house even if they thought someone was in trouble, that is what the police are for. When Sister Andrea began to pray and the girls joined, Lexis seemed disgusted by it. I wish we knew more about evil’s plans for her.

David and Kristen shared a sweet moment saying that they wish they had more than one life to be with each other and sneaky Ben heard it all and cut the romantic moment with a joke. Seriously, I want these two together so badly and as Katja pointed out during our chat, their relationship is not lust but love.

Now Leland using Leslie and Timothy to try and get the baby closer to her may not have worked but he still took something for Kristen - Sheryl. Sheryl spent the whole episode trying to avoid Leland while trying to take him down. She broke into the offices and announced he died. Kurt showed up just in time to see her attacked by a demon. Now that he knows that demons are real, I wonder what role he will play. I really thought Sheryl was going to succeed. She drugged Leland and had him until his demon minion showed up and knocked her out. Leland tosses her off a balcony and she succumbs to her wounds at the hospital after David gives her her last rites. She went out like a boss however because she fought to the end.

Leland may have thought he won but Sheryl left behind video evidence of his crimes and he now is headed to jail. I’m sure evil will provide him with the best attorneys. Only issue for Kristen now is what will she decide regarding Timothy. Will she take him in or send him to foster care; Kristen send him to foster care ASAP.

I loved this episode and I love the redemption arc Sheryl received. The motivation Kristen now has to end Leland will make for a great final confrontation soon. What did you think of the episode Evil fans? Leave a comment and remember to connect with me on X @jereereviews to discuss even more.
