Press Release
Dan Stevens, known for his roles in "Abigail" and "Downton Abbey," is set to lead and executive produce the third installment of AMC Networks’ horror anthology series, "The Terror." Titled "The Terror: Devil in Silver," this season is adapted from Victor LaValle's novel and written by Chris Cantwell, known for "Halt and Catch Fire." The story follows Pepper, a working-class moving man who is wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital, where he faces not only the dark secrets of the institution but potentially the Devil himself.
Stevens expressed excitement about joining the project, describing it as a "dark symphony of psychological horror and gripping drama." The six-episode series, set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2025, will feature Karyn Kusama as the director for the first two episodes. Other executive producers include Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker for Scott Free Productions, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert for Emjag Productions, Guymon Casady for Entertainment 360, and Brooke Kennedy.
The previous seasons of "The Terror" have received acclaim, with the first season focusing on a British naval expedition trapped in ice and the second season depicting life in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. Both seasons are available on AMC+.
Stevens' recent works include roles in "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," "The Boy and the Heron," and the upcoming film "Cuckoo" with Hunter Schafer. He also finished production on Netflix’s limited series "Zero Day."
