4 Movies That Inspired Games

30 Jul 2024

Try to remember all of the movies that came out in the cinema last year. In all probability, you can recall only a few titles. That’s because while a lot of movies are made, most of them disappear just as quickly as they arrived, never to be spoken of again.
So why do people keep making movies, if it feels as if there’s a high chance that no one will remember it six months after it came out? Well, because some movies do break through. They’re not only a smash hit, but they go on to take a life of their own, influencing pop culture for years to come.
Some movies get sequels. Some get adapted for television. And some become immortalised in the online casino world by inspiring a slot game. Let’s take a look at some of the leading movies you can play in slot form at an online casino.

King Kong

There’s no doubt that King Kong is a pop icon, and that makes him the perfect choice for a slot game. After all, he’s been around for a long, long time, so there’s been plenty of time for slot machine developers to immortalize the gigantic ape in slot game form! His first appearance came all the way back in 1933, and there’s never too much time passing before he’s back on the screens. He was most recently seen starring alongside another revered mythical creature, Godzilla, in this year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The King Kong Slot Game features symbols that we’d all easily associate with the gigantic ape and includes two different backgrounds of his normal hangout areas: New York City and the jungle.

Indiana Jones

Ah, Indiana Jones. Having first arrived on our screens back in 1981, he said goodbye forever with the release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in 2023. Just how significant his influence has been is impossible to say, but perhaps the fact that the movie made archaeology cool says enough. Everyone loves Indiana Jones, and with good reason — he’s a cool, suave academic who goes on adventures. What’s not to love?

Fans of Indy can continue his adventures by playing Gonzo’s Quest, the Indiana Jones-inspired slot game. The game is available at most online casinos, but it’s best to check what offers are available at the site before playing — players can see a full list on Oddschecker to learn which online casinos have deals. While Gonzo’s Quest isn’t an official Indiana Jones title, the imagery and symbolism are close enough to make players feel that they’re on an adventure that the professor would be proud of.

Jurassic Park

As with Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park was a smash hit from the very beginning. Unlike Indiana Jones, it’s still going strong. In fact, it’s unlikely that the dinosaur adventures will ever come to an end (although they should really have learned of the dangers of dinosaur parks by now).

As you might expect, the Jurassic Park slot utilises all the famous imagery you’d expect from such a game, including dense jungles, those awesome Jurassic Park off-roading vehicles, and, of course, dinosaurs galore. Plus, the title features images of all the movies’ famous characters, including the genius — or idiot, depending on your view — behind it all, Dr. John Hammond.

James Bond

If there was one movie character that simply had to have their own slot game, it’s James Bond. After all, is there a character more associated with the glitz and glamour of the world’s leading casinos than 007? He’s been seen playing at casino tables in James Bond movies since pretty much the beginning and has always proven that he knows his way around a deck of cards.

There are actually a number of James Bond slot games, including real-life machines that you can still find in some Las Vegas casinos. The most popular digital Bond slot game is Casino Royale, which you’ll find at most online casinos. You don’t necessarily have to dress up in a tuxedo if you’re just planning to play at home, but feel free to — it’s what Bond would want.
