Exclusive Interview - Miguel Rodarte Talks HBO's Gripping Drama 'Sierra Madre

Miguel Rodarte is a renowned Mexican actor and producer from Culiacan, Sinaloa. He has starred in popular Mexican series such as "Rebelde," "Los Heroes del Norte," and "Luis Miguel." Recently, Rodarte has broadened his horizons with roles in acclaimed series like "Narcos: Mexico" on Netflix and "Los Enviados (The Envoys)," created by Academy Award winner Juan Jose Campanella. 

Rodarte’s talent and industry contributions have earned him several accolades, including the "GQ Man of the Year" award in 2011 and the title of "Exemplary Sinaloense in the World" from the Government of Sinaloa in 2013. Audiences can look forward to his performances in two upcoming films and three TV series, including the acclaimed HBO Original drama "Sierra Madre."

Set in San Pedro Garza García, known for its opulence amidst the violence of Nuevo León, "Sierra Madre" is based on real events. Spanning nine episodes, it covers the 2011 Casino Royale attack in Monterrey, where 52 people perished, and the murder of two students at the Tecnológico de Monterrey during a clash between the military and hitmen. The series focuses on the Parra family, whose children vie for control of their father's businesses while maintaining their affluent image. Meanwhile, the rest of the state is embroiled in a war against organized crime, which the wealthy can afford to ignore.
