CBS has resolved the mystery surrounding "Elsbeth," the spinoff from "The Good Wife," by renewing it for a second season, as confirmed by TVLine.
So far this season, "Elsbeth" has captured an average audience of 7.3 million viewers and achieved a 0.45 demographic rating, factoring in delayed viewing. This represents a 25% increase in viewership over "CSI: Vegas" in the same Thursday night slot last year, with identical demographic performance. Among the 14 dramas CBS has broadcast this TV season, "Elsbeth" is ranked tenth in total audience and surpasses only "NCIS: Sydney" in the demographic.
"Elsbeth has truly captivated viewers with its unique mix of engaging humor, intriguing 'how-done-it' plots, and the quirky genius of its protagonist, Elsbeth Tascioni," stated Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment President. She praised executive producers Robert and Michelle King for their proven success in creating critically acclaimed shows filled with memorable characters. As the second spinoff of "The Good Wife" following Paramount+'s "The Good Fight," "Elsbeth" features Carrie Preston reprising her role as the sharp yet unconventional lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni.
