Recap
In the latest episode, "Da Mimmo," Ramsay heads to Dumont, New Jersey, to help the Gigante brothers save their pizzeria, which opened in November 2022. The family-owned restaurant features brick-oven pizza and traditional Italian offerings based on family recipes. The Gigante brothers are well-known TikTok influencers, but their restaurant is struggling to survive after less than a year in business. Ramsay stages an intervention at the restaurant, and it becomes clear that the communication between the chef in the kitchen and the pizza chef, the oldest son Antonio, is lacking.
In the episode, Ramsay tries the food and notes that the soup tastes good, but nothing else really hits the mark. The chef is unhappy with the quality of the products she has, and Ramsay calls the situation a "nightmare." Ramsay helps the restaurant refresh its menu and make some changes, and the brothers promote the restaurant on social media. The first dinner service after the refresh is a success, and the restaurant is busier than it ever was. However, halfway through the service, things come to a halt as food is ready to go but service is not happening. Ramsay sends Antonio back to try and get things back on track.
After the episode aired, Da Mimmo hosted a viewing party with about 120 people, and the restaurant gave away prizes throughout the night via raffles and various games. The owners and crew are proud of their restaurant and the makeover Ramsay made possible. The reviews for Da Mimmo since the Kitchen Nightmares makeover have been mixed, with people having differing opinions on the food. The restaurant takes time to respond to online reviews and seems they will be putting out a new menu soon. Da Mimmo was listed for sale right before the episode aired, but that was apparently a mistake by the listing agent, and they are potentially looking to move locations.
