As per Deadline
Showtime has scrapped greenlit originals Gattaca from Homeland co-creators Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa and Seasoned, a comedy starring Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody, as well as two development projects, Sweetness and Split. This follows the cancelation of other series ahead of their debut and is part of a cost-cutting drive across Paramount. Gattaca is a remake of the 1997 movie that stars Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman and takes place a generation after the events of the film, when science and humanity have evolved to the point where we can direct our own evolution. Seasoned is a half-hour comedy inspired by the real-life relationship of Patinkin and Grody and follows the delightfully tumultuous relationship and life of a successful, gregarious, deeply committed, slightly insane married couple. Both Gattaca and Seasoned will have the opportunity to be shopped elsewhere.
