The Sinner - Part II - Review: Existentialism

"We all have moments when we're fighting ourselves, when ourselves just become unbearable."

The plot thickens as Harry learns of Percy's relationship with CJ Lam, not only the drugs involved but also some worrisome behavior. It seems CJ was a woman of mysteries before the day Ambrose met her. Including a previous relationship, which I'm not sure it's in the past, with Brandon, who is now married with a kid.

We get to see more about the town dynamic, specifically the rivalry between the Muldoons and the Lams. We learn it was CJ the one who accidentally hurt her in a fight, it seems there were secrets she was hiding that were not her own, though it would make sense if the family was at the center of it, and by her guilty behavior with CJ, I have a feeling the Muldoons did something to mess with the Lams that she wasn't able to open up about.

Harry wonders if Percy actually killed herself, and when he feels lost he involves Sonya who seems to be game though we know Harrys' obsessions can be a lot, she's supposed to know that too. There's one mystery that seems so disconnected from everything, though I'm sure it won't be by the end, it was just so weird to see those old naked ladies making weird sounds and what seemed like a ritual by the shore.

"Do you really want to bring her down into the dark with you?"
