Chloë Grace Moretz has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming series adaptation of William Gibson’s “The Peripheral” at Amazon, Variety has learned exclusively.
The series centers on Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynne is smart, ambitious and doomed. She has no future – until the future comes calling for her. The Peripheral is master storyteller William Gibson’s dazzling, hallucinatory glimpse into the fate of mankind — and what lies beyond.
“The Peripheral” was first picked up to series by Amazon late last year. The one-hour drama hails from writer, executive producer and co-showrunner Scott B. Smith. Greg Plageman will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will also executive produce.
