The Jim Henson company has confirmed the cancellation:“We can confirm that there will not be an additional season of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Looks like Netflix might have quietly cancelled The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the prequel series to 1982 fan favorite film The Dark Crystal. In an article by The Hollywood Reporter discussing Netflix letting go long time executive Cindy Holland, they discussed Holland being responsible for several expensive shows that did not perform for the streamer
Dark Crystal (an "expensive disappointment," per one source connected to the
streamer).
Definitely sounds like Netflix has cancelled the show if it was "an expensive disappointment". The recent Emmy winner for Outstanding Children's Program premiered on Netflix a little over a year ago, and Netflix has yet to officially announce its fate, but such a long wait is rarely a good sign for the future of a show.
