Per deadline, Imelda Staunton is in talks to take over the role of Queen Elizabeth II for the 5th and 6th seasons of The Crown. She will follow Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman who both played the role for 2 seasons each.
While Netflix has not yet renewed the show beyond the currently in production 4th season, producers Left Bank Pictures is currently in talks with Staunton to play the role and the deal is not yet complete, stresses deadline.
