Update: Kit Harrington has been confirmed for The Eternals and will play Dane Whitman aka Black Knight

Update: Ms. Marvel has been confirmed by Marvel Studios at the D23 panel.

Just a heads up, there are three news articles featured in this post.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Marvel Studios is developing a live-action Ms. Marvel series for Disney+, the upcoming streaming service hosting multiple Phase 4 MCU series.

The series hails from British writer Bisha K. Ali (Hulu's Four Weddings and a Funeral) who will write and serve as the showrunner on the Marvel property. The project may be announced during the D23 Disney+ presentation.

The latest incarnation, and the one the show will be focusing on, is a teenager named Kamela Khan. Khan broke ground by becoming Marvel’s first Muslim character to be lead her own comics title. Her identity as a Pakistani American, living in a religious family in New Jersey whilst trying to find her own way, have been a major focus of the stories. Her powers have been described as polymorphous, meaning she has the ability to stretch and change her shape.

Additionally, Deadline has also revealed that Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unknown feature film.

Also, per the Spider-Man Sony/MCU situation, Deadline has also revealed that Jon Watts (Tom Holland's Spider-Man films) is being courted by Kevin Feige and Marvel as it is uncertain that he may return for the 3rd entry in Sony's franchise. Deadline has more information via the link below.

I’m told he’s being courted by Marvel. As for one-upsmanship, there are bruised feelings between those studios over the Rashomon-like press narratives that followed Deadline’s scoop, over who did what in dismantling a brilliantly orchestrated introduction of a hit superhero franchise. It has gotten so bad that some wonder if it would even be possible for them to rethink things and come to terms on Spider-Man.

I continue to hear that Disney asked for a 25% stake where it would finance that much of the movie and receive that much of the equity upside.
