Press Release
“MAGNUM P.I.” IS BLESSED
Season Two Production Begins on “Magnum P.I.” with a
Traditional Hawaiian Blessing in Honolulu
MAGNUM P.I. kicked off its second season production in Honolulu today with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture. Series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang and Amy Hill, as well as the producers and the entire MAGNUM P.I. crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). In honor of the show’s second season, the ceremony centered around the connections we make by using two traditional maile leis to symbolize how the production, its island home and the viewers create a “gift.”
The second season of MAGNUM P.I. premieres Monday, Sept. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
