Michelle Forbes (Berlin Station, The Killing, True Blood), Patrick Fugit (Outcast, Almost Famous), Michael Gaston (The Man in the High Castle, The Leftovers, Strange Angel), Tess Haubrich (Pine Gap, Alien: Covenant) and Shruti Haasan (Srimanthudu, Behen Hogi Teri, Singam 3) have joined the cast of Treadstone, USA Network's upcoming Jason Bourne CIA Universe set series, per Deadline.
The series will be written by Tim Kring (Heroes, Beyond) with Ramin Bahrani (Fahrenheit 451) attached to direct the pilot from Universal Cable Productions. Amazon will internationally distribute. The series is currently in production in Budapest.
The series centers on the fictional CIA black ops program Operation Treadstone, which was the program that created superspy, Jason Bourne. The covert program uses behavior modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. The first season follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously "awakened" to resume their deadly missions.
Michelle Forbes will play Ellen Becker, a savvy CIA veteran trying to balance the demands of work and family while investigating a conspiracy with international implications.
Patrick Fugit will recur as Stephen Haynes, a high school math teacher with a dark side that he's struggling to keep under control.
Michael Gaston will play Dan Levine, a no-nonsense senior CIA veteran overseeing an investigation that involves some of the Agency's darkest secrets.
Shruti Haasan will play Nira Patel, a young woman in Delhi whose waitress job serves as a cover for a dangerous double life as a trained assassin.
Tess Haubrich will recur as Samantha, a nurse who must reconcile her husband Doug's dark past.
