Marquis Rodriguez (Iron Fist, When They See Us, Chicago Fire), John Simm (White Dragon, Doctor Who, The Catch), Richard McCabe (Collateral, Poldark, Harlots, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams), John Heffernan (BBC & Netflix's Dracula, Collateral, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) and Dixie Egerickx (The Secret Garden remake, Patrick Melrose) have joined the cast of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel pilot from Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin per Deadline. The five new additions will take on series regular roles.
As per usual, character details are being kept under wraps.
Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the horrifying secrets of Westeros's history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It's not the story we think we know.
Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin serve as the creators of the prequel with Goldman set to showrun. SJ Clarkson (The Defenders, Jessica Jones, Succession) will direct the pilot.
Rodriguez, Simm, McCabe, Heffernan and Egerickx join previously announced cast: Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo and Miranda Richardson.
