Legacies - We're Gonna Need A Spotlight - Review + POLL

This week on Glee Legacies, worms brought in my a unicorn infected all of the students, with the exception of Lizzie and Landon. There was a lot of singing and dancing. Rafael admitted to the whole school that he has feelings for Hope, then denied it later. Alaric kissed Emma only to learn that she’s dating Dorian. Josie tried to avoid Penelope, Lizzie tried to stop being a bitch (emphasis on “tried”). Alaric was infected later in the episode and threw the artifact in the lake.

I don’t like it: I want Hope to be happy, I truly do. But she was way too perky this week. I’m surprised no one found it alarming, it was just so unlike her. I actually like it when she’s sarcastic and dark, it reminds me of Klaus. But it’s probably not the healthiest state of mind, I know. I’m glad the perkiness didn’t last, though I did like that it made her more social. This girl needs more friends, preferably ones that don’t fall in love with her.
This is new: The twins did change for the better this week. Lizzie trying to rein in her bitchiness was hilarious, though the fact that she’d keep shocking herself shows her commitment. This really surprised me. And she was a lot more supportive of her sister as well. I wonder if some of what happened in the alternate realities didn’t stick in her subconscious making her more protective of Josie. Speaking of which, it was interesting to see Josie with lowered inhibitions. It made her speak up when she’d usually keep quiet out of fear of hurting her sister and go after the things she wants but is scared of, like singing (and Penelope). However, Alaric made a valid point about choices. Josie chooses to stand by her sister every day and while we all want her to yell at Lizzie occasionally, I really respect her for that loyalty.

Awkward: Does anyone know how many love triangles we currently have going on? Because I lost count. I suspected that something would grow between Alaric and Emma, but I wish it hadn’t happened this way. Alaric was drunk, Emma was under the influence of that worm and to top it all off, she’s dating Dorian (which Alaric didn’t know about). Dorian is one of Alaric’s only friends, so this will make everything much more awkward than it’ll have to be. If only Alaric had also been infected at the time, he’d have had the perfect excuse.

Great plan: Did Landon and Rafael remind you of anyone this week? Because I got some serious Stefan and Damon vibes, especially where their relationship with Elena was concerned. Not seeing it? 2 brothers (perhaps not by blood but still) involved with the same girl. One is dating her, the other is pining from the shadows and denying there’s anything there. I get why Rafael didn’t say anything, I really do. It would be bad for their friendship. But the longer it drags on, the worse it’ll get.
Now what? Did anyone else find it weird that Alaric, under the influence of that worm, threw the artifact away? I really thought he’d be taking it to Malivore. Wasn’t that the whole point? Or was he still at the lowered inhibitions phase, not yet the “obsessed with the artifact” phase? Either way, I sure hope Alaric will remember where he threw it or they’re going to be in a lot of trouble.

Best quotes: Hope: “I know this is important, but you couldn’t have put pants on first?” Alaric: “It’s a little early for snark, Hope.”
Alaric: “Vampires, werewolves, dragons, … By now I’ve faced terrifying danger in my life. But there’s only 1 day on my calendar marked with a black X. 1 day I fear above all others. Because if I have to hear somebody sing how many minutes there are in a year 1 more time, I’m gonna throw myself to the unicorn.”
Hope: “So they’re all infected.” Landon: “Yeah, I’m not going to wait around to find out.”

That’s it for this week. Check in again two weeks from now for an all-new review and let me know in the comments what you thought of this week’s episode.
