The Best and Worst of 2018 - RESULTS

Jan 13, 2019

The results are finally in! Thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts and feelings about television in 2018 out there. I know there were many questions but hey, it was worth it. It's why we have a platform like this one, to celebrate shows that aren’t usually and always recognized by awards. As we're settling into the new TV viewing year with 2019, it’s fun to reflect on the year that went by.

This year, we received 1660 votes total. It was fun seeing the submissions pour in and the variety of answers that came through.

Before we dive into the results, here are a few very, very important notes to keep in mind:

1. Each winner's list consists of the top three choices that got the most votes for their categories. However, there are some categories that also have ties for winners.

2. Much like last year, the answers really surprised me in a good way. When we first started, fandom-heavy shows took the prizes but this year, there is definitely more range, which is awesome to see.

3. It was specified in the rules that you only have to answer ONCE. Submissions that didn't adhere to this rule were disqualified but it was great to see that almost all of you actually stuck to the rules, unlike last time! It made my work easier and more fun. To those who didn't follow the rules and voted multiple times, none of their votes were counted.

4. Under some categories, you'll see my own notes in red. They'll include some honorable mentions, my personal observations about the results, fun facts about last year's winners in the same categories etc.

Without further ado, here are your best and worst of 2018, SpoilerTV Readers:

BEST TV SHOW, DRAMA:

1. Killing Eve
2. The Haunting of Hill House
3. The Americans

- None of last year's winners (Outlander, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, The Leftovers) made it this year, the latter for obvious reasons.
