Netflix is developing a drama series based on the Resident Evil franchise per Deadline. The project hails from Constantin Film, the production and distribution company behind the movies starring Milla Jovovich that were loosely based on the video games.
A search for a showrunner is underway.
Deadline notes that the plan is to expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the current mythology. The series is will retain the basic premise that served as the starting point for the film franchise.
