Criminal Minds - Renewed for a 15th and Final Season

Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 10-episode, 15th season by CBS which will serve as the show's final installment per Deadline. The series is filming the season 14 finale but will remain in production for the upcoming 15th season and film those 10 episodes to air during the 2019-20 tv season.

Deadline has a great, long article that I highly recommend all the fans read via the link below, there is more information there than is shared here regarding the Season 14 finale involving David Rossi's wedding to Krystall and how the final season will be more serialized, bringing back a memorable villain. The final season will begin with a time jump per TVLine.

Showrunner Erica Messer will co-write the finale with Criminal Minds star Kirsten Vangsness.

"We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans," said Reisenbach. "We discussed wanting to keep the show in continuous production so 10 felt like the right number for us to roll straight into and give Erica enough episodes to end the series the way she wanted to."

The biggest through-line of the final 10 will revolve around "a very worthy adversary for the team, especially for David Rossi," Messer said of the "unsub", who will be introduced later this season. "Will be up against another formidable villain and will be concluding the 10 episodes with a showdown with that person," she added.
