Pilot ShowsUpdate: Per Production Weekly, this is a newer, more detailed synopsis.
Hannah, a young professional, with an internship at a communications company, has been spinning the truth for some time -- letting her family thinks that she's doing fabulously, while in reality, she's broke, now suddenly homeless. She finally does spill the bean to her family, only to be met with stunning news from her parents.
ABC has given a pilot order to a comedy starring Hannah Simone (New Girl) per The Hollywood Reporter.
The single-camera comedy hails from Simone, Matt Fusfeld (The Mayor, New Girl, American Dad) and Alex Cuthbertson (New Girl) and ABC Studios. Simone, Fusfeld and Cuthbertson will pen the pilot.
The untitled comedy is inspired by Hannah Simone's nontraditional Indian family per Deadline. It centers on Hannah (Simone) and her Indian-American immigrant father who have always been close, but after she admits to herself that she’s in a dead-end job and he reveals his marriage is over, they’re starting over together and each finding a new path. This new chapter will either make them crazy close…or just crazy.
