Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House, E.T.) has joined the cast of Stargirl per Entertainment Weekly's exclusive.

Thomas will take on the recurring guest starring role of Dr. Charles McNider aka Dr. Mid-Nite. The role described as the "Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite" much like Joel McHale's Golden Age Starman, Lou Ferrigno Jr.'s Golden Age Hourman and Brian Stapf's Golden Age Wildcat. The upcoming DC Universe live-action series is being written by Geoff Johns which is inspired by his late sister.

Once an introspective surgeon in Dr. Charles McNider, now a brilliant and forward-thinking medical pioneer in Dr. Mid-Nite. Dr. Mid-Nite is a founding member of the Justice Society of America (JSA) who acts as the team's resident doctor and detective with the help of his trusty owl. The character, per the comics, is also blind but it is unclear if that interpretation is carrying into the live-action adaptation per DC.

Stargirl follows High School sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Bassinger) who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

Kwesi Ameyaw portrayed the character in The CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Thomas joins previously announced cast members Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, Christopher James Baker, Joel McHale, Lou Ferrigno Jr., Brian Stapf and Brec Bassinger.
