Netflix has ordered "Medical Police", a spin-off of the black comedy series Childrens Hospital, SpoilerTV has learned. Erinn Hayes and Rob Huebel will both reprise their roles from the original show.
Described as an action-packed thriller, mystery, & love story spun off from the world (and absurd comedic sensibility) of Childrens Hospital, Medical Police will center on two American physicians (Erinn Hayes & Rob Huebel) stationed at a pediatric hospital in São Paulo, Brazil discover a civilization-threatening virus and are recruited as government agents in a race against time to find a cure & uncover a dark conspiracy.
Childrens Hospital started off as web series in 2008, but later moved to Adult Swim where it ran for 6 more seasons till 2016.
Per ProdWeek, Rob Corddry, who created the original, will return to write and produce, along with Krister Johnson, Jonathan Stern and David Wain, who were also writers on the original show. Production set to start next month.
