James Wolk (Tell Me a Story, Zoo) has joined the cast of Damon Lindelof's HBO Watchmen adaptation in a major recurring role per Deadline. Production has begun on the upcoming dark satirical and dystopian superhero series was teased by HBO in October. Lindelof penned the pilot with Nicole Kassell directing the premiere episode.
Set in an alternate history where "superheroes" are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.
HBO won't reveal who his character is per usual but Deadline notes he'll be playing a junior senator from Oklahoma.
Wolk joins a cast including Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.
