Lionsgate TV Chairman, Kevin Beggs, has revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that the studio is thinking about a potential sequel to Orange is the New Black.
It's too early for any concrete information but Lionsgate and series creator, Jenji Kohan, have had ongoing conversations about a possible sequel to OITNB. It's noted nothing is in development. Netflix licenses the series from Lionsgate TV.
"We're really proud of the long run that Orange Is the New Black had. It remains one of Netflix's most-watched shows. We're ending on a high note. Keep in mind we own that series and will be distributing it for years to come. We're already in discussions and, when the timing is right, we'll talk further with Jenji about a potential sequel," Beggs said during the earnings call.

What would you like to see in a sequel series for OITNB? A new cast, a new story with some of the old cast (depending on how characters stories wrap in the final season it could be a possibility), or like some have mentioned in the comments before, an all-male version of OINTB or would you like something totally new? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Do you think OITNB should consider a sequel?
OITNB will conclude with its final run on Netflix next year.
