Rebecca Front (The Thick Of It, Poldark, War & Peace) has joined the cast of HBO's space comedy pilot, Avenue 5, in a lead role per Deadline. The comedy hails from Veep creator, Armando Iannucci.
The comedy is written and executive produced by Iannucci and is set in the future, mostly in space.
Front will play Karen Kelly. Karen is a middle-aged American housewife, who boarded Avenue 5 using her sister's non-transferable ticket. Strong-willed, articulate and likable, Karen finds herself becoming the voice of the passengers, enjoying her newfound power.
Front joins previously announced cast members Hugh Laurie and Suzy Nakamura. The pilot was ordered last year along with backup scripts.
