Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead) has joined the cast of DC Universe's upcoming Swamp Thing series per Deadline. Prescott will co-star oppsite Crystal Reed, Maria Sten, and Jennifer Beals.

Prescott will take on the series regular role of Madame Xanadu, a blind fortune teller with a mysterious past and supernatural perceptions that reveal the future.

Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane (Reed) as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

The drama based on DC characters hails from James Wan in association with Warner Bros. Television. The live-action drama will debut on the streaming service in 2019. Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman will pen the script with Wan, Verheiden, Dauberman, Michael Clear, and Wiseman executive producing the live-action series. Len Wiseman (Sleepy Hollow) is set to direct.

Additionally, Deadline confirms that Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) will play Swamp Thing, it is unclear if Mears will also play Alec Holland but considering DC Universe's other series, Doom Patrol, has cast two actors for roles such as Larry Trainor and Negative Man being played by Matt Bomer and Matthew Zuk (the latter for the physical performance of Negative Man), it's possible something similar will happen here.
