Brock Ciarlelli who plays Brad Bottig on The Middle is returning to the world of The Middle in Sue Sue in the City.
ABC has titled the spinoff pilot for the beloved ABC comedy per The Hollywood Reporter and have added Ciarlelli as a series regular after his heavily recurring role as Sue's best friend Brad on the original series. The project has a pilot production order at ABC and hails from Warner Bros. TV and original series creators DeAnne Heline and Eileen Heisler who will be writing and executive producing the pilot.
The half-hour single-camera comedy follows the twentysomething adventures of eternal optimist Sue Heck (Sher) as she leaves the small town of Orson to navigate the ups and downs of a career and young adulthood in the big city of Chicago.
Sue Sue in the City will focus on Sue as she leaves college and her hometown of Orson, Ind., for the ups and downs of a career and young adulthood in Chicago — apparently with Brad still as part of her support system.
