HBO has nearly ordered its next limited series after being in development since last October. Greenlit for production, the 6-episode limited series, I Know This Much is True, is based on Wally Lamb's best-selling novel per Deadline. Mark Ruffalo (The Normal Heart, Avengers, 13 Going on 30) will star in the project in dual roles.
Derek Cianfrance (The Place Beyond the Pines, The Light Between Oceans, Blue Valentine) will write, direct and executive produce the family saga with FilmNation Entertainment and Ruffalo executive producing.

I Know This Much is True is a family saga which follows the parallel lives of identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey (Mark Ruffalo), in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice, and forgiveness, set against the backdrop of 20th century America.
