Variety is exclusively reporting that Falcon and The Winter Soldier could come together in a potential team-up limited series that is being developed for the upcoming Disney streaming service.
Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been tapped to pen the series featuring the two Marvel heroes. The series will be produced by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios (who oversee the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Movie Division) and not Marvel TV who are responsible for all the Marvel series on air today. Like the previously reported Loki and Scarlet Witch series, the Disney streaming service projects are expected to range from six to eight episodes and have larger budgets than a usual tv series.
Variety doesn't specify if Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie (who will star in Netflix's upcoming second season of Altered Carbon) are attached to reprise their roles, possibly because the project is in earlier stages but they did mention Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen for the Loki and Scarlet Witch series. I assume both will return as Disney is likely wanting to bring in the built-in audiences from the movie franchises and the original actors will help with that.
