Update: Per Production Weekly, this is a newer, more detailed synopsis.
Carol Chambers (Heaton), is a middle-aged woman who has been married, had a daughter, gotten a divorce, moved on with her life, got a medical degree, and now is the oldest intern in the history of her hospital. A chatty maverick with people skills and a "never say die" attitude (when it comes to her patients and when it comes to her new career), Carol has her First Day on the ward, and she's off to a rocky start -- but as far as Carol is concerned, that's when her innermost self-cues the "Theme From ROCKY", and her A game kicks into high gear
Update: Per The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has given an official pilot order to the comedy project starring The Middle's Patricia Heaton.
The comedy first announced in October came with a massive series commitment penalty, meaning if CBS didn't order it to series, the network would have to fork over a sizable cash fee.
