S.W.A.T - Shaky Town - Preview

Los Angeles isn’t the only thing on shaky ground in the season two premiere of SWAT, airing Thursday, September 27th at 10/9c on CBS.

Shaky Town gets off to a high-octane start, with some illegal street racing and poor judgement.
Street, still off the team, is a little too cocky and it’s one thing he might need to work on before returning to SWAT. Speaking of, Chris has Street’s back (and the patience of a saint) and she’s there to remind Hondo their ex team member still exists – even if his spot has been filled for now.

And Hondo, well expect to see some cracks start to show in him too.
He shoulders a lot and he’s not hiding it as well as he likes to think he is.
If this is something that’s slowly drawn out of him this season it could make for some highly emotional scenes.

Timeless fan favorite Joseph Lee Anderson guests in the episode as Street’s LAPD partner, Tony, so "Clockblockers" will want to watch. Tony’s going to be good for Street, and the respect is quick to go both ways.
Another thing Tony is good at? Scaring away ghosts.
Really.

With a new commissioner comes new headaches for Jess and Hicks and the team. They’re not teacher’s pet anymore – and challenges lie ahead.
But with an earthquake having hit LA (Luca, by the way, is your go-to guy for seismology related questions), departmental and personal issues are going to have to wait while SWAT works to free children taken hostage by traffickers. During this Deacon shines in the emotional scenes while separated from the team, and Street impresses with his Tarzan impersonation.

This is a strong first episode back, introducing us to a slightly more fractured team than before, a fractured city, and tougher times ahead for Jess and Hicks. Aftershocks can be more powerful than initial quakes, so with anticipation I await what lies ahead for this SWAT family. If Shaky Town is setting the standard, this season is going to be a solid one.

Stay liquid.
