Sept. 25, 2018 – CBS All Access, CBS’ digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced that all eight episodes of the second season of its original comedy series NO ACTIVITY will be available to stream beginning Thursday, Nov. 22. NO ACTIVITY’s second season debut marks the first time CBS All Access has released an entire season of an original series at once.
Patrick Brammall and Tim Meadows will reprise their roles as Detectives Nick Cullen and Judd Tolbeck, two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together. They are joined by returning guest stars Jake Johnson as Detective Haldeman, Sunita Mani as SDPD Dispatch’s Fatima, Jason Mantzoukas as haphazard criminal Marco, Amy Sedaris as SDPD Dispatch’s mother hen, Janice, and Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons as Leon, the internal affairs investigator with a fondness for deep sea fishing.
New guest stars joining them this season include Jessica Alba, Chris Gethard, Max Greenfield, Joe Manganiello, Cristin Milioti and Nasim Pedrad, among others.
Season two of NO ACTIVITY finds us back in Car 27 with Detectives Cullen and Tolbeck on a new stakeout. Meanwhile, the SDPD is rocked by a massive corruption scandal, and the culprit might be close to home.
The first season of NO ACTIVITY is currently available to stream exclusively on CBS All Access.
NO ACTIVITY is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Funny Or Die, Jungle and Gary Sanchez Productions, and is based on the Stan original series produced by Jungle. The series is co-developed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall, alongside executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Joe Farrell, Jason Burrows and Joe Hardesty. Trent O’Donnell will also direct all episodes.
In addition to NO ACTIVITY, CBS All Access’ growing slate of original series currently includes STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, THE GOOD FIGHT, STRANGE ANGEL, ONE DOLLAR, streaming now, and TELL ME A STORY, premiering Oct. 31. CBS All Access’ original series library will continue to expand with the addition of the previously announced reimagining of THE TWILIGHT ZONE and a new untitled “Star Trek” series featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, with additional programming to be announced.

CBS notes that moving forward they will adopt a mix of viewing options (weekly/binge release) based on their audience needs and what type of show it is per The Hollywood Reporter. Marc DeBevoise, president and COO of CBS Interactive notes that people watched more episodes of No Activity towards the end of the season rather than weekly hence the change to binge release during Thanksgiving weekend.
"We saw that when we dropped season one (which was weekly), a lot of people came in towards the end of the season and watched multiple episodes at once," DeBevoise told The Hollywood Reporter. "Given the timing of season two — dropping for Thanksgiving weekend — it was the perfect time and series for us to experiment with dropping all episodes at once."
DeBevoise said viewing patterns for CBS All Access shows vary from show to show, with a series like Star Trek: Discovery bringing a sizable amount of "appointment viewing." Going forward, the service will likely offer a mix of viewing options based on audience needs and the type of show.
