JuJu Chan (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) and Mark Dacascos (Hawaii Five-0, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., John Wick 3: Parabellum) have been cast in recurring roles in Netflix's upcoming martial arts drama, Wu Assassins per Deadline.
Written by John Wirth (Hap and Leonard, Hell on Wheels, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), who also serves as the showrunner, Wu Assassins is a martial arts crime series with supernatural elements set in San Francisco's Chinatown. Iko Uwais stars as Kai Jin, who becomes the latest and last Wu Assassin, chosen to round up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance once again.
Additionally, Uwais is also a producer as well as the lead martial arts and fight choreographer and stunt coordinator. Stephen Fung (Into the Badlands) will direct the first two episodes. Katheryn Winnick, Lewis Tan, Tommy Flanagan & Tzi Ma also star.
Chan will play Zan, a lieutenant in the Triads and elite martial artist, Zan is the bodyguard and sole confidant to Byron Mann's character Uncle Six.
Dacascos will portray an extremely fit and strong monk who can take down any evil force that comes his way.
