Ingress: The Animation - Animated Series Coming to Netflix This October
“Ingress,” the original mobile phone augmented reality game created by the team behind “Pokemon Go,” is getting its own animated series this fall, company founder John Hanke told Variety.
“Ingress: The Animation” will created by animation studio Crafter under the direction of noted computer-graphics artist Yuhei Sakuragi and with character design by “Neon Genesis Evangelion’s” art director Takeshi Honda. Fuji TV is working with Netflix to deliver the anime worldwide.
“The anime peers into the ‘Ingress’ universe and allows viewers to see a part of that universe that is uniquely expressed,” Hanke said in an interview earlier this week.
The show takes place in the world of “Ingress” where exotic matter is leaking into the world through portals. That matter can influence people in different ways. Some gain a sort of super mental power. The show focuses on Makoto and Sarah, two people impacted by the matter. Makoto can touch things and see their history. Sarah can see certain aspects of time and space. The two are thrown together after something happens to Sarah and Makoto, who is a police officer, is brought in to figure it out. The duo end up on the run together away from a third, mysterious character named Jack. The three get pulled into Ingress’ Enlightened versus Resistance battle, but are also trying to figure out the motives behind a corporation that seems to be abusing exotic matter to experiment on humans and do “bad things,” Hanke said. This new antagonist will also appear in the new “Ingress” game.

Lost - Evangeline Lilly Not Interested in Reboot
“There’s a rumor every year that they are going to reboot Lost,” the actress says. “The thing about reboots and remakes is that I don’t like them in general, period. I want people to leave Star Wars alone! I did love Rogue One, as an aside. But for the most part, I don’t usually love them. I feel like it’s just tainting something that’s precious. I’ve said I don’t want to do things in the past and I’ve done them — you know, never say never — but sitting where I am today, my assumption is no.”

MOVIES: Child's Play - Chucky the Doll Remake in Development with It Producers
MGM is remaking Child’s Play, the 1980s horror movie centering on a toy doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer, with It producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith.
MGM is fast-tracking the project, which has Lars Klevberg, the Norwegian filmmaker behind the horror movie Polaroid, in the director’s chair as it heads toward a production start in Vancouver this September.
Tyler Burton Smith — who has written video games and wrote Kung Fury 2, now in production — penned the script.
Directed by '80s and '90s horror mainstay Tom Holland and co-created by Don Mancini, Child's Play told the story of a popular toy doll named Chucky that becomes possessed and terrorizes a single mom and her son, as the killer needs the son’s body to jump into before his transference to the doll becomes permanent.

MOVIES: Psych: The Sequel - On Hold Due to Stars Conflicting Filming Schedules
Although a rep for USA/UCP declined to comment, TVLine has learned that talks had been underway to potentially shoot a second movie later this year. I hear USA/UCP remain interested in making the unofficially-titled Psych: The Sequel, provided a production window opens up that works for the franchise’s main players.
