We’re almost there! We’re entering the final episodes of the season, so things should be moving along right? Silly viewer, Cloak & Dagger changes pace for no viewer. Lotus Eaters delivers another hour of the show that is more interested in character development and deepening the bond between Tyrone and Tandy than pushing the plot forward in a major way.
Title: Lotus Eaters

Remember that I’m attempting to keep these previews as insightful as possible, but as spoiler free as possible as well, which leaves me with not a lot to work with. This show really loves loops. That’s my main thought walking out of the hour. Sure, there were some cool things and there were some sweet things in this episode, but honestly all I could think about was the loop. It got a little bit frustrating as we’ve already seen this trick before.
This is definitely more of a Tandy centric episode than it is a Tyrone one and it’s a bit jarring seeing as what Tyrone just lost in regards to avenging his brother. Still, I’m here for the whole Wonder Twins Powers activate-ness that leads us into the bulk of where we spend the episode, which is inside Ivan Hess mind at a critical point in his life. These two are showing some real demonstration of their power this week and I’m here for that. Tandy, searching for answers, ends up getting lost in her quest for them and Tyrone has to work to pull her out. Harsh truths will be spoken by each of them and one of them will use their powers on the other. (Both of them have each other pegged BTW) Holt continues to shine with the emotional stuff, while Joseph struggles a bit and it bogs the message down a bit.
Honestly, I was a little bored by the time the end rolled around, and it felt as if the main plot of the episode carried on too long. But man, the sweetest and most beautiful ending that calls back to some truths spoken within the loop happens and it made it all worth it. Seriously, it was probably the most VULNERABLE these two have been with each other and I was suckered right back in. Sure, there were powers being used, cookies being ate and loops where a character keeps dying to feel alive again, but those final moments are what really made lotus eaters exciting.
Here are some Quick Takes:
I LOVED how even in his own version of hell, this Ivan Hess has his wits about him, especially with his commentary on Tandy and Tyrone.
Tandy is really getting the hang of her daggers, so watch out, mind zombie things!
There’s more than one very important phone call this episode.
Tandy’s advice that she gives to Ty that her dad gave to her is really solid.
When ****** asks ***** to play it again, I teared up a little bit.
That’s it for this week! I’d say more, but gotta avoid those spoilers! Be sure to check back here after the episode airs for a full spoilerific review and poll!
