Jane Leeves (Hot in Cleveland, Frasier) has joined the cast of FOX's The Resident for Season 2 as a new series regular per Deadline.
Leeves will play Dr. Kitt Voss, star Orthopedic Surgeon. She will be a kick-ass new mentor for our residents. Kitt attracts the roving eye of Dr. Bell, while butting heads with larger-than-life Cardio-thoracic surgeon AJ Austin (Warner).

Additionally, Merrin Dungey, Moran Atias, and Melina Kanakaredes are not returning to the medical drama per Deadline. Some of the actresses had one-year deals and with Dungey's new ABC drama, The Fix, being ordered, it was obvious she wouldn't return.
