House alum Lisa Edelstein is joining the cast of ABC's hit medical drama, The Good Doctor, for the upcoming second season. She will recur in several episodes starting with the season 2 premiere per Deadline's exclusive. This marks a reunion with House creator David Shore for Lisa after her 7 season role as Dr. Cuddy on the FOX medical drama.
Edelstein will play Dr. Blaize, an expert oncologist who has returned to the hospital after a brief suspension, at the request of Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), to help treat his cancer. Dr. Blaize is quite comfortable going toe to toe with Glassman and isn’t afraid to have a little fun while letting him know she calls the shots.
