The rules are as follows:
1. Four episodes go head to head for 24 hours, going live and closing at 12pm ET each day. The episode that emerges as the winner of each poll will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition! Social media is your best friend in this competition if you want your favourite episode to win.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly. Let's not have any abuse directed at any person, fandom or show, as we've had on occasion in the past.
The favourite for the competition gets going today, as Lucifer's "A Devil of My Word" takes on Deception's series finale. Lucifer's performance will be fascinating now that the series has been revived by Netflix; its popularity spike was very clearly a result of a mobilised fanbase seeking to save the show. Will the turnout be the same now? Only time will tell. We then come to Brooklyn Nine-Nine — last year's third-place finisher in the Series Competition — and its fifth annual Halloween episode, which faces Grey's Anatomy's season 14 finale. Riverdale's second season finale is up next, taking on The Middle's series finale. And finally, we have The Flash's "We Are The Flash", up against Brooklyn Nine-Nine's other entry, its fifth season finale, "Jake & Amy". Curiously, "HalloVeen" is the only episode in action today that isn't a finale.
