Just two weeks into The 100‘s fifth season, the CW drama series has been renewed for a sixth.
Between The 100 and iZombie, the former has been the stronger contender for renewal. It is higher rated – drawing an 2.1 million viewers in most recent ratings vs. 1.3 million for iZombie this season and has been a reliable midseason replacement.
The CW was expected to pick up at least one of its remaining series, which it just did. The fate of iZombie will likely be determined by the number of pilots the CW picks up to series and whether there will be shelf space left for the comic-inspired drama from Rob Thomas. It is worth noting that the network will have more real estate next season on Sunday where it will likely put shows with built-in following to help draw viewership on the new night.
