Empire - Bloody Noses and Crack'd Crowns - Review

Empire’s fourth season is coming to an end. I have to be honest, this year I found the division in two parts quite strong.

The first 9 episodes were focused on the aftermath of Lucious’ accident, and this arc has been focused on how the family tries to reunite and face all the problems they have. “Bloody Noses and Crack'd Crowns” is another fairly good episode and it gives the right push towards the season finale. Let’s summarize what happened.

After all Eddie’s manipulations, Cookie and Lucious still keep fighting to save Empire and keep in the family. They organize a livestream concert to crowdfund what they need in order to create an obstacle and destroy Eddie's plans.

Meanwhile, Jamal's new anonymous group is getting more famous day by day and Hakeem brings Haven to the showcase to make Tiana jealous. Andre is trying to redeem himself and his loyalty is put to the test: he must decide between the Lyons or a possible career at the head of the realm. In the end, he makes the right choice and helps to save Empire. The episode ends with an explosive twist: Eddie knows about Lucious’ killing and he blackmails him. He has two choices: or he backs down and leaves to Eddie the control of Empire or he will spend his last days in prison.

All in all, this episode was entertaining. I like how they are reuniting Cookie and Lucious: it feels real and genuine. I am also enjoying Andre’ s arch. I look forward to watching how they will end this season. For now, I’m impressed.

And you? What you think of “Bloody Noses and Crack'd Crowns”?
