Laura: Amy chases and then subdues her perp down the street while wearing a wedding dress.
Beth: Rosa helps Amy shop for a dress and they take down a perp. Rosa has a rough exterior but she deeply cares about her friends and saw Amy was stopping herself from embracing shopping for the dress. Amy chasing down a perp was just icing on the cake for that perfect scene.
CODE BLACK, "Third Year", April 25, 2018, Actors: Benjamin Hollingsworth, Harry Ford, Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán and more, The Scenes: Mario tells Angus to take the surgical position & Leanne tells Jesse about her struggles & Jesse welcomes the new first year residents
Jessica: At the end of the episode Angus gets offered a surgical position. He debates whether or not to take it, but Mario tells him yes. I loved that Angus kept looking at Mario for an answer. When I started watching the show I definitely did not see these two becoming friends, but their friendship is one of my favorites on television.
Marko: Leanne confesses to Jesse her struggles about raising a teenage Ariel. Code Black was always so special cause of the balance of darkness and light each character was carrying and it was always most obvious with Leanne who went to hell and back and is giving it her all to keep Ariel by her side.
Claire: In the beginning, Jesse ("Momma") tells the new first year residents that this is his house and he is in charge, just because they have an MD means nothing. Love how he puts them right in their place.

The Scene: Rainer takes Paige home
Luana: This show makes me squirm with its bad writing sometimes but it was so nice to see how far he has come and how respectful and sweet he was with her.

The Scene: Meredith gives Jackson some perspective
Luana: I loved how Meredith stood up to Jackson who, no matter how good his intentions are, doesn't always understand what these women have had to go through. I loved how she was not willing to shut up, because calling it out every single time is absolutely necessary.
iZOMBIE, "Chivalry Is Dead", April 23, 2018, Actors: Rose McIver, Aly Michalka, Melissa O'Neil, Izabela Vidovic and more, The Scene: Isobel doesn't turn into a zombie
Justyna: Who could have thought that seeing a young girl not turn into a zombie would be such a powerful moment? I love the way this show can turn so emotional, dark and serious in a matter of seconds. Most of the episode is rather similar to many others. Liv takes the personality of another murder victim, there's an investigation and some funny moments related to Liv's new persona. And then there's yet another memorable ending this season. A young, sick girl named Isobel manages to arrive in Seattle after initial complications and asks for Liv's help, to turn her into a zombie and save her life from terminal illness. Normally all it takes is a scratch but this time it doesn't appear to be working. Despite two attempts, Isobel doesn't feel any difference and the look on everyone's faces makes her understand what's happening. "I'm going to die, aren't I?" When the music starts playing ("Dream" by Priscilla Ahn), the truth hits and leaves everyone speechless. It's somehow both the best and worst thing that could have happened. It's a new hope for a cure (or a vaccine) for the zombies and yet it's also a death sentence for this young girl who came through hell to get there and ask for another chance to live. It's such an important change in the story and beautifully acted, emotional moment. The shock, the heartbreak, confusion - they're all so clearly seen in the eyes of Liv and her friends. And above all - Isobel. Kudos to cast & crew for such a wonderful work in this scene. Special shout-out to Izabela Vidovic! Can't wait to see the next chapter of this story.
Marko: The girl doesn't turn after Liv scratches her. My jaw simply dropped, eyes popped out and I was left speechless (that doesn't happen to me). The show is finally getting more serialized and is delivering their best episodes since the season 2 finale. What will happen now?
KILLING EVE, "Don't I Know You?", April 22, 2018, Actors: David Haig, Jodie Comer and more, The Scenes: Bill confronts Villanelle in the subway station & Villanelle stabs Bill
Saloni: Villanelle stabs Bill and Eve watches him collapse on the dance floor. So many reasons to love this scene. It was good payoff for the tension they were building up as soon as Bill started following Villanelle from the train station. This move to kill him is also going to play off in the long run because it will motivate Eve on a personal level to find his killer. As for Villanelle, she has accomplished isolating Eve very quickly. In 3 episodes itself, this show has proven its brilliance.
DJRiter: In her arrogance at following Eve, Villanelle likely dismissed her partner, Bill, as a rumpled, incompetent fool. So, when Bill grabs her arm on the subway platform, stopping her from following Eve, Villanelle seems genuinely surprised at being outsmarted. It also seemed to me that once he saw her up close, Bill recognized Villanelle from somewhere.
LEGION, "Chapter 12", April 24, 2018, Actors: Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller and more, The Scenes: Opening Montage & David walks through the crowd to get to teenage Syd
Milo: Opening Montage. Syd is one of my favourite characters in Legion and it was a good choice to spend the whole episode devoted to what is essentially her origin story, as the show's opening montage - set to Bon Iver's 22 (OVER S∞∞N), showcased her growth from childhood into adulthood as she coped with her powers. As usual with Legion - the soundtrack was used really well - I'm not Bon Iver's biggest fan but this music choice was good, as was their usage of The National and Tame Impala later in the very same episode.
DarkUFO: Opening birth to adulthood montage.
Laura B: David walking through the crowd to get to teenage Syd. It was nice to finally get more insight into the history of Syd, but what struck me was how Syd explains finally that she feels that love is something to fight to save, every day is a struggle to survive, and how love alone won't save them/humanity, but yet for David, he admits he feels the opposite--that for him this love was like a fairytale and as we watch him go through Syd's memories over and over we see just how much he cares about her, despite whatever she says. I found it so endearing.

Jaz: Linda makes Lucifer realize he needs to tell Chloe how he feels.
RISE, "This Will God Willing Get Better", April 24, 2018, Actors: Auliʻi Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, The Scene: Lilette and Robbie talk about his graveyard scene
Jessica: Lilette and Robbie talk about his graveyard scene of “Spring Awakening”. This was a short scene, but one that stood out to me. Robbie is having trouble acting and asks Lilette for her opinion. She encourages him and tells him he’s going to get it while he tells her she’s amazing. It was so refreshing to see two teenagers encouraging each other and having real conversations. Plus it was just adorable.

The Scene: Jared gets lip injections
Milo: This was an excellent episode that was one of the best of the season so far and the standout moment for me was seeing Jared overcompensate after being exposed to the media circuit and make his lips larger in the process, prompting equally hilarious reactions from everyone who saw them.
SUPERGIRL, "In Search of Lost Time", April 23, 2018, Actors: David Harewood, Melissa Benoist, Carl Lumbly and more, The Scenes: M'yrnn apologizes to the DEO & J’onn discusses his father’s psychic bleeds with Kara and Alex & J’onn talks his father down
Justyna: There were two stories in this episode that made the biggest impression on me - Sam's discovery of her other side and J'onn's father trying to hold on to his memories. As a result, there were two scenes I wanted to highlight the most, Sam finally realizing the truth & M'yrnn's apology at the end, but I decided to go with the latter one. After such a long life, it's hard to imagine what it must feel like for M'yrnn to start losing himself. He was trying to keep his mind and memories together but as a result he caused a lot of damage and pain to everyone in the DEO. His actions are what made them fight against each other and might have ended many lives of the people who only ever tried to help. When J'onn is finally able to reach his father and the chaos stops, all that's left for M'yrnn is the regret, the guilt and the pain. He asks everyone gathered in the DEO for a moment of their attention and apologizes for all the suffering he has caused. His voice is breaking and he admits how afraid he was to lose control of what's left of his life. The one thing about himself that he was trying to keep secret is now in the open and he has to face his fears before he loses what matters to him the most. The music is beautifully set to the scene and Carl Lumbly did such an incredible job in this episode and especially this moment. I loved seeing everyone united and ready to support both J'onn and his father at the end. Kudos for such an emotional and great hour!
DJRiter: J’onn discusses his father’s psychic bleeds with Kara and Alex. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed seeing scenes with the “Space Family” until this storyline. This scene was especially touching as J’onn admits his fears about dealing with his father’s illness, about taking his father’s dignity and independence. Kara and Alex gently let him know that while difficult as this decision is it’s one he has to make and without words convey to him that they are there for him. It’s a realistic scene with a theme that has likely played out for anyone with a loved one faced with a similar decision. Harewood, Leigh, and Benoist nail the emotions and once again prove that scenes like this from the three of them are a big part of what sets Supergirl apart from other superhero shows.

SUPERNATURAL, "Unfinished Business", April 26, 2018, Actors: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, The Scene: Dean and Sam talk at the end
Justyna: After all this time and all these seasons, there's still so much heart in all the wonderful moments between the brothers. It was great for them to acknowledge the similarity of the events from season five and Dean admitting that the memory of Sam's death after the last battle between Lucifer and Michael still haunts him. It provides more context to his previous actions and feels exactly right for the character. Considering the importance of that story, I'm glad to see both Sam and Dean think back to those events and try to learn from them. Dean at his core is always putting Sam's life first so he tells his little brother that he doesn't care what might happen to him as long as Sam is safe. But then it's the younger Winchester who makes it clear that after everything they've been through what matters is that they do everything together. They fight together, win or lose, and if it comes to it, they will die together too. It's both a foreshadowing of their future fate and the memory of the past. Both actors continue to be brilliant on the show and I'm excited to see how this part of their story will end.
Klutzy girl: Dean tells Sam that he doesn't care what happens to himself but he does care about what happens to his brother. Sam proceeds to tell him that if they'll die, they'll die together. Am pretty sure this is how the series is eventually going to end but it was a sweet - and sad - brotherly moment.
S.W.A.T, "Source", April 26, 2018, Actors: Lina Esco, Alex Russell and more
The Scene: The team fights to save Chris
Jessica: This was an emotional scene involving the whole cast. I may have cried when all the guys were begging Chris to hold on. It shows how much this team cares about each other and how much Street has grown throughout the season. As he held Chris’ hand I realized how much I love Chris and Street’s friendship.
THE 100, "Eden", April 24, 2018, Actor: Eliza Taylor, The Scene: Clarke's suicide attempt
Jessica L: For the past four seasons, Clarke has been an emotional rollercoaster, but the one thing that’s always kept her going is the belief she was doing what was necessary for her people. However, at the start of season 5, Clarke is essentially alone. Her closest friends are in space and her mother is trapped in the bunker. For the first time, she’s all by herself, and after fighting to barely stay alive for the past two months, she nearly gives up. It was an incredibly powerful scene and Eliza Taylor did an amazing job, conveying just how much Clarke has lost by that point and just how close Clarke came to taking her own life.
Marko: Eliza Taylor gets a lot of negativity cause of all the stuff Clarke had to do over the 4 seasons of The 100 but her acting was never an issue. She once again topped all her previous actions as the desperation grew over the first half of the episode. Eliza gave it all, the desperation was palpable as the background score and the pacing were all working strongly together to make the episode peak with this scene.
THE AMERICANS, "The Great Patriotic War", April 25, 2018, Actors: Matthew Rhys, Holly Taylor, The Scene: Philip and Paige spar
Saloni: I think this was a haunting, really great scene. Philip and Paige have obviously grown distant but this scene was a long time coming, him confronting the fact that she's training and seeing first-hand what she's capable of, even if it's not much. There was so much nuance in that one scene. Matthew Rhys was amazing, showing both, a weird sense of pride but also fear for his daughter. This entire episode was brutal but brilliant. THE GOOD FIGHT, "Day 457", April 22, 2018, Actors: Christine Baranski, Nyambi Nyambi and more, The Scenes: Jay calls out Adrian & Diane confronts Kurt
Laura B: Jay calls out Adrian. Once again there were so many things packed into this episode that it was hard to narrow it down, but actor Nyambi Nyambi was bumped to a series regular role this season and it was nice to see him get a little bit of his own side story in this episode, but more over his willingness to call Adrian out, when he could not help his friend was so familar to The Good Wife --those early days where Alicia started to question Will's & Diane's belief to zealously represent the client, which ran through the series all the way to the final scene. It was a good performance and it was interesting to take Adrian's aptitude for showiness, showing when it can it comes off as unfeeling.
Sam: Diane confronts Kurt about having drinks with his former mistress. I love how this scene starts out with Diane trying to contain her anger/hurt and keep her discussion with him completely about the case, but it gradually slips out and she angrily confronts him about betraying her again. Christine Baranski is, like always, excellent here.
THE HANDMAID'S TALE, "June" & "Unwomen", April 25, 2018, Actors: Elisabeth Moss, Ann Dowd, Alexis Bledel and more, The Scenes: June and the other handmaids on the gallows & June's hiding place & Emily watches Mrs. O’Connor die
Saloni: June and the other handmaids on the gallows with the noose around their necks. This entire opening to the second season was tough to watch but very impactful. The choice of song (This Women's Work), the women being dragged on the platforms and tied to the ropes, all of their expressions and emotions because they will possibly die any minute, it was too much to take but extremely well-acted, well-shot. To top it all, Ann Dowd's Aunt Lydia gave a chilling speech to match the dread.
Claire: When we realize where June is in hiding... The Boston Globe...where a slaughter took place, what a chilling and timely reminder of the importance of the freedom of the press and our speech. We should NEVER forget this is the line that separates our country from anarchy. And anyone who diminishes the press with ‘fake news’ labels cares nothing of keeping our country free.
Jessica L: Emily watching Mrs. O’Connor die. Alexis Bledel did a stellar job in “Unwomen” as viewers got a better insight into Emily’s backstory before her time as a handmaid. While there were plenty of moving performances, my favorite was Emily telling Mrs. O’Connor that there are some things that couldn’t be forgiven. Mrs. O’Connor may have thought she was in the same boat as the other women in the colonies, but as Emily so eloquently said, “Every month, you held a woman down while your husband raped her. Some things can’t be forgiven.” And then when Mrs. O’Connor wanted Emily to pray with her, she callously told the woman she should die alone. After everything the women of Gilead have put the handmaids through, it was nice and satisfying to see these women regain some of the power, however fleeting.
THE ORIGINALS, "One Wrong Turn on Bourbon", April 25, 2018, Actors: Joseph Morgan, Danielle Rose Russell, Riley Voelkel and more, The Scenes: Klaus and Hope argue & Freya breaks up with Keelin to protect her
Beth: Klaus and Hope argue about him abandoning her. This was actually a running scene which is what I appreciated, but it was the final act when Klaus explained the look on Hope's face when she saw him was seared into his memory and Hope had gone on thinking it was her fault. It was heartbreaking and the show did a great job during the entire episode of showcasing a fractured relationship between a father and a daughter.

The Scene: Quinn and Rachel talk at the end
Luana: If I could, I'd choose the promo for next season, it looks amazing, but for now, I'm going with the quiet scene where they drink together and Quinn is finally honest and open with Rachel. I love these two, and I can't wait to watch season 4.
WESTWORLD, "Journey into Night", April 22, 2018, Actors: Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris and more, The Scenes: The Man in Black meets Young Ford & Dolores explains her new role
Laura B: Dolores explains her new role, as she leaves some guests/board members to possibly hang to death. Although It's hard to feel comfortable with a character who is declaring this is all her dream, as opposed to a shared dream for the many, and who is willing to cause the same agonizing suffering to others that some of the guests have bestowed upon the androids, without ever asking why, I chose this scene, because Evan Rachel Wood's performance, as she switched through personalities to explain that she is neither The Rancher's Daughter or Wyatt, was truly amazing to watch. You can already tell there is another layer or personality that seems more "real" somehow, despite that I'm not 100% sold that she is fully conscious without programming and/or if awaking is more of a process than something instant, but I can't wait to find out. Overall an awesome premiere with a lot mystery building and mythology expansion.
Milo: The Man in Black meets Young Ford. This was such a consistent episode, it was hard to pick any standout moments. But one of the show's many highlights this week was the Man in Black's reunion with Young Ford - that set the Man in Black on a new journey, as he found himself more alive than ever now that there were real consequences and stakes in the world, taking Robert out of the equation in a way that was as ruthless as ever now that he no longer needed him anymore.

This scene was especially touching as J’onn admits his fears about dealing with his father’s illness, about taking his father’s dignity and independence. Kara and Alex gently let him know that while difficult as this decision is it’s one he has to make and without words convey to him that they are there for him. It’s a realistic scene with a theme that has likely played out for anyone with a loved one faced with a similar decision. Harewood, Leigh, and Benoist nail the emotions and once again prove that scenes like this from the three of them are a big part of what sets Supergirl apart from other superhero shows.

Justyna: After all this time and all these seasons, there's still so much heart in all the wonderful moments between the brothers. It was great for them to acknowledge the similarity of the events from season five and Dean admitting that the memory of Sam's death after the last battle between Lucifer and Michael still haunts him. It provides more context to his previous actions and feels exactly right for the character. Considering the importance of that story, I'm glad to see both Sam and Dean think back to those events and try to learn from them. Dean at his core is always putting Sam's life first so he tells his little brother that he doesn't care what might happen to him as long as Sam is safe. But then it's the younger Winchester who makes it clear that after everything they've been through what matters is that they do everything together. They fight together, win or lose, and if it comes to it, they will die together too. It's both a foreshadowing of their future fate and the memory of the past. Both actors continue to be brilliant on the show and I'm excited to see how this part of their story will end.
Klutzy girl: Dean tells Sam that he doesn't care what happens to himself but he does care about what happens to his brother. Sam proceeds to tell him that if they'll die, they'll die together. Am pretty sure this is how the series is eventually going to end but it was a sweet - and sad - brotherly moment.

The Scene: The team fights to save Chris
Jessica: This was an emotional scene involving the whole cast. I may have cried when all the guys were begging Chris to hold on. It shows how much this team cares about each other and how much Street has grown throughout the season. As he held Chris’ hand I realized how much I love Chris and Street’s friendship.
Jessica L: For the past four seasons, Clarke has been an emotional rollercoaster, but the one thing that’s always kept her going is the belief she was doing what was necessary for her people. However, at the start of season 5, Clarke is essentially alone. Her closest friends are in space and her mother is trapped in the bunker. For the first time, she’s all by herself, and after fighting to barely stay alive for the past two months, she nearly gives up. It was an incredibly powerful scene and Eliza Taylor did an amazing job, conveying just how much Clarke has lost by that point and just how close Clarke came to taking her own life.
Marko: Eliza Taylor gets a lot of negativity cause of all the stuff Clarke had to do over the 4 seasons of The 100 but her acting was never an issue. She once again topped all her previous actions as the desperation grew over the first half of the episode. Eliza gave it all, the desperation was palpable as the background score and the pacing were all working strongly together to make the episode peak with this scene.
Saloni: I think this was a haunting, really great scene. Philip and Paige have obviously grown distant but this scene was a long time coming, him confronting the fact that she's training and seeing first-hand what she's capable of, even if it's not much. There was so much nuance in that one scene. Matthew Rhys was amazing, showing both, a weird sense of pride but also fear for his daughter. This entire episode was brutal but brilliant. The Scene: Leo talks about the loss of comrades (picked by Jaz)
Laura B: Jay calls out Adrian. Once again there were so many things packed into this episode that it was hard to narrow it down, but actor Nyambi Nyambi was bumped to a series regular role this season and it was nice to see him get a little bit of his own side story in this episode, but more over his willingness to call Adrian out, when he could not help his friend was so familar to The Good Wife --those early days where Alicia started to question Will's & Diane's belief to zealously represent the client, which ran through the series all the way to the final scene. It was a good performance and it was interesting to take Adrian's aptitude for showiness, showing when it can it comes off as unfeeling.
Sam: Diane confronts Kurt about having drinks with his former mistress. I love how this scene starts out with Diane trying to contain her anger/hurt and keep her discussion with him completely about the case, but it gradually slips out and she angrily confronts him about betraying her again. Christine Baranski is, like always, excellent here.
Saloni: June and the other handmaids on the gallows with the noose around their necks. This entire opening to the second season was tough to watch but very impactful. The choice of song (This Women's Work), the women being dragged on the platforms and tied to the ropes, all of their expressions and emotions because they will possibly die any minute, it was too much to take but extremely well-acted, well-shot. To top it all, Ann Dowd's Aunt Lydia gave a chilling speech to match the dread.
Claire: When we realize where June is in hiding... The Boston Globe...where a slaughter took place, what a chilling and timely reminder of the importance of the freedom of the press and our speech. We should NEVER forget this is the line that separates our country from anarchy. And anyone who diminishes the press with ‘fake news’ labels cares nothing of keeping our country free.
Jessica L: Emily watching Mrs. O’Connor die. Alexis Bledel did a stellar job in “Unwomen” as viewers got a better insight into Emily’s backstory before her time as a handmaid. While there were plenty of moving performances, my favorite was Emily telling Mrs. O’Connor that there are some things that couldn’t be forgiven. Mrs. O’Connor may have thought she was in the same boat as the other women in the colonies, but as Emily so eloquently said, “Every month, you held a woman down while your husband raped her. Some things can’t be forgiven.” And then when Mrs. O’Connor wanted Emily to pray with her, she callously told the woman she should die alone. After everything the women of Gilead have put the handmaids through, it was nice and satisfying to see these women regain some of the power, however fleeting.
Beth: Klaus and Hope argue about him abandoning her. This was actually a running scene which is what I appreciated, but it was the final act when Klaus explained the look on Hope's face when she saw him was seared into his memory and Hope had gone on thinking it was her fault. It was heartbreaking and the show did a great job during the entire episode of showcasing a fractured relationship between a father and a daughter.

The Scene: Quinn and Rachel talk at the end
Luana: If I could, I'd choose the promo for next season, it looks amazing, but for now, I'm going with the quiet scene where they drink together and Quinn is finally honest and open with Rachel. I love these two, and I can't wait to watch season 4.
Laura B: Dolores explains her new role, as she leaves some guests/board members to possibly hang to death. Although It's hard to feel comfortable with a character who is declaring this is all her dream, as opposed to a shared dream for the many, and who is willing to cause the same agonizing suffering to others that some of the guests have bestowed upon the androids, without ever asking why, I chose this scene, because Evan Rachel Wood's performance, as she switched through personalities to explain that she is neither The Rancher's Daughter or Wyatt, was truly amazing to watch. You can already tell there is another layer or personality that seems more "real" somehow, despite that I'm not 100% sold that she is fully conscious without programming and/or if awaking is more of a process than something instant, but I can't wait to find out. Overall an awesome premiere with a lot mystery building and mythology expansion.
Milo: The Man in Black meets Young Ford. This was such a consistent episode, it was hard to pick any standout moments. But one of the show's many highlights this week was the Man in Black's reunion with Young Ford - that set the Man in Black on a new journey, as he found himself more alive than ever now that there were real consequences and stakes in the world, taking Robert out of the equation in a way that was as ruthless as ever now that he no longer needed him anymore.
