Grey’s Anatomy continues its march through ABC’s history books. The veteran medical drama has been officially renewed for a 15th season. That makes it ABC’s longest-running primetime scripted series, eclipsing sitcom 1952 sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriett, which aired for 14 seasons. ABC’s second longest-running primetime drama is NYPD Blue (12 seasons). I hear Grey’s renewal was revealed to the cast and crew at the show’s Season 14 wrap party tonight.
“Grey’s Anatomy has a special place in my heart and millions of viewers feel the same way,” said Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment. “Thanks to fiercely loyal fans who have been on this journey since the beginning, and new generations of viewers who continue to discover the joy and drama of Grey Sloan Memorial, the show is as strong as ever.”
