BETTY WHITE JOINS THE CW WITH "GOODNESS"
March 31, 2018 (Burbank, CA) – The CW has put into development GOODNESS, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
The series follows Goodness (Betty White) and her dog Mercy. To the public, Goodness runs an orphanage that takes in homeless teenagers. Behind closed doors, Goodness trains her students as loyal subjects in the name of Darkseid. However when the body of one student is found, Goodness discovers a conspiracy that threatens all she has worked for.
“Our strategy of developing diverse drama across our schedule has really paid off for The CW on several levels, Betty will add to our lineup with her own style and take on the genre that our viewers have come to expect,” said Pedowitz. “I’m proud of the rich history of Betty's career and I’m happy we’ll be able to share more of it with viewers across such diverse age groups.”
"I'm a teenager trapped in an old body, so the chance to do something that will bring a smile to their faces was an opportunity I could not pass up." said Betty who will also be performing her own stuntwork.
Goodness will be produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.
