Season Finale Aftershow
THR Interview
As for Zoe, the character will be sticking around for season three, which will also introduce more of Beth's large family (she grew up with her sisters and many other relatives). "We're looking forward to including Beth and Zoe's extended family, and throwing them into scenes with Kevin and Randall. It just felt like the possibilities there were really fun and endless," Berger says.
As for Zoe, played by British actress Melanie Liburd (Syfy's Dark Matter), she'll be back on a regular basis in the fall. "When we come back, we're going to be embarking on a new chapter with them sort of discovering their romance, and their relationship, and figuring out what they are. We can expect to see her for a while," Berger says. "We were looking for someone that could hold her own with Justin comedically and dramatically. We did chemistry reads and she was so fantastic that we saw the two of them together and we were like, 'That's it, that's Zoe.' It was just a lot of fun. We didn't want to let her get out of the room because we just felt like we found our girl, so it was really exciting."

Obviously you don't know much about season three, but will Kate and Toby's desire to have a kid be affected by his struggle with depression?
I don't know much, but I do know that they do want children in some capacity, and everything that happens in the relationship affects that process, or would affect that process, but I don't know to what extent, or how, just yet. They're figuring that out.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: It’s the ultimate wish fulfillment for fans to see Rebecca and Jack together in the present day, albeit in a dream. If I remember correctly, there was talk of putting you in old-age makeup almost from the beginning. What were your first thoughts when you found out this context for it?
MILO VENTIMIGLIA: I was excited about it. I was happy about it. For several reasons. One, I get to experience what Mandy or Jon Huertas go through. I get to stand next to Mandy dressed as my aged version of Jack. Which I think is not only cool for the audience, but really cool for us just to think about what the life lived could have been. And then beyond that also, selfishly for me, I got to share the stage with actors I don’t get to usually spend time with — i.e., Justin [Hartley] and Chrissy and Sterling [K. Brown] and Susan [Kelechi Watson] and the kids, Eris [Baker] and Faithe [Herman]. It was fun, it was exciting, and I’m grateful for the opportunity that [creator Dan] Fogelman and the writers give me and all of us to be able to play those different possibilities for the characters.

We know that we’ll be exploring Vietnam. What questions should This Is Us fans be asking themselves over the summer as they wonder about where the story is headed in season 3?
I really want our fans to relax over the summer. They’ve been through a lot. [Laughs] But yeah, we have this looming future question, “What is Randall talking about? What’s going on in the future? Who is “she”? And I hope people will be excited to see chapters of Jack’s life explored that we have not yet seen. There’s still so much about him that we don’t know — that his kids don’t know, that his wife doesn’t know — that I think it’s going to be really exciting to see him in completely new situations. And we may also be seeing Jack and Rebecca in points of their marriage that we’ve never gotten to see before, and that’s going to be really exciting too.
