CBS has closed a deal for Spaced Out, a multi-camera workplace comedy from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and Warner Bros. TV where Lawrence’s Doozer Prods. is based.
Written by Lawrence, the ensemble comedy is set in the world of commercial space travel. Doozer’s Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive produce.
A single-camera version of Spaced Out was set up at NBC last season. It was written by Adam Sztykiel and executive produced by Lawrence and Ingold. The project went to pilot, which was directed by Ruben Fleischer and starred Matt Shively, Christine Woods and Miranda Cosgrove. The idea is now being redeveloped as a multi-cam with Lawrence as writer.
